Wendy Akin

Primary 1 Full Day Teacher

Wendy Akin is originally from Australia. She is married and has three sons and two grandchildren. Mrs. Akin originally received her Montessori credential from the St. Nicholas Training Center in London, England. She has spent four years at the Royal Ballet School of London. Before coming to White Rock Montessori, Mrs. Akin spent several years performing as a professional dancer in England, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Australia. She also worked at two different Montessori schools in Shreveport Louisiana. Mrs. Akin loves this quote from Dr. Montessori, “The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind” and believes it defines her practice as a Montessori teacher.

Rob Lewicki

Primary 1 Half Day Teacher, Before School Care Teacher

Rob Lewicki graduated from Texas A&M and received his AMS Montessori certification in 2012. He worked in outdoor education and elementary public school before working at White Rock Montessori. Mr. Lewicki drives to school every morning with his three children who attend WRM. His hobbies include reading, doodling, and playing games with his friends and family.

Mary Shockley

Primary 2 Full Day Teacher

Mary Shockley has been a Montessori enthusiast, both personally and professionally,  for over 10 years, and currently serves as the half-day teacher in the Preschool 2 classroom. She was introduced to a Montessori toddler environment at the beginning of her career and completely fell in love with the method and philosophy. Ms. Mary completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and holds an AMS Early Childhood credential from the Dallas Montessori Academy. She has two beautiful children that have been immersed in the Montessori method from birth, and who also attend WRM. A few of Ms. Mary's passions and interests include spending time out in nature with her family, traveling when possible, and inspiring young children to be excited about the outdoors.

Lisa Williamscraig

Primary 2 Half Day Teacher, Extended Day Teacher

Lisa Williamscraig received her BA in English Literature from the University of Dallas and her AMI Montessori diploma from the Montessori Teacher Training Center of Northern California. After completing her training, she spent ten years teaching in bilingual-immersion Montessori schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is married and has two children, both of whom attend WRM. When not at school, Ms. Lisa and her family enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring the State and National Parks systems.
